Privacy Policy

How Calculators Lab handles your data — transparently and responsibly.

Privacy is a priority. This policy explains what data is collected, what isn't, and how third-party services we use (such as ads and analytics) handle information from your visit.

Overview

Calculators Lab is designed to be useful with as little data as possible. In short:

  • No account or signup is required to use any calculator.
  • Calculators run locally in your browser. The numbers you type are processed on your device.
  • Your inputs are not sent to our servers and are not stored after you leave the page.
However: like most modern websites, Calculators Lab uses third-party services for advertising and analytics. Those services may automatically collect limited technical data (such as IP address, device, and pages visited) according to their own privacy policies.

Information we collect

a. Information you provide

None. Calculators Lab has no accounts, login forms, signup forms, or contact forms that store submissions. The values you enter into a calculator are used only to produce a result on your screen.

b. Information collected automatically

Third-party services we rely on (advertising and analytics, described below) may automatically collect:

  • IP address
  • Device type, operating system, and browser
  • Approximate location (typically country / region)
  • Pages you visit and how you arrived at them
  • Basic interaction data (such as clicks and time on page)

This is standard for websites that use advertising and analytics. The data is used to operate the site, measure usage, and serve ads.

How we use information

The limited data collected through third-party services helps us:

  • Improve website performance, reliability, and usability.
  • Understand which calculators are most useful so we can prioritize improvements.
  • Display advertisements that fund free access to the site.
  • Detect abuse, fraud, and security issues.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use the values you enter into calculators for any purpose other than computing your result.

Cookies & tracking

Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device. Calculators Lab itself does not require cookies to operate, but third-party services we use may set cookies in your browser to:

  • Analyze site traffic and usage patterns
  • Serve and measure advertisements
  • Remember preferences (such as ad personalization choices)
  • Improve overall experience
You can manage or disable cookies at any time through your browser settings. Disabling cookies will not prevent calculators from working — they run locally either way.

Advertising

Calculators Lab is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense and may use other third-party advertising vendors.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites.
  • Google uses advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads to users based on their visits to our sites and other sites on the Internet.
  • Third-party vendors and ad networks may use information (not including your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about your visits in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookie use for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.eu.

Analytics

We may use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics or a privacy-respecting equivalent) to understand how visitors use the site.

  • Data is collected and reported in aggregate — we look at trends, not individuals.
  • We do not use analytics data to attempt to identify individual users.
  • Analytics providers may use cookies and process IP addresses according to their own privacy policies.

Third-party services

Calculators Lab relies on a small number of trusted third-party services for advertising, analytics, and hosting. These services may collect data according to their own privacy policies — we have no control over their practices.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party service whose data practices concern you.

Data storage

Calculators Lab does not operate a backend database of user inputs or accounts. Specifically:

  • Calculators run entirely in your browser using JavaScript.
  • The values you type are not transmitted to our servers.
  • There are no user accounts, profiles, or saved sessions on our side.
  • Some browsers may temporarily cache pages or assets — this is normal browser behavior, not server-side storage.
If you can compute a result while offline (after the page has loaded), that's a good sign your inputs aren't leaving your device.

Your rights

Privacy laws vary by region. Wherever you live, you can exercise the following at any time:

  • Disable or clear cookies through your browser settings.
  • Use private/incognito browsing to avoid persistent cookies.
  • Opt out of personalized advertising via the links in the Advertising section.
  • Block third-party scripts using a content blocker — calculators will continue to work.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the EU's GDPR, the UK's UK GDPR, or California's CCPA / CPRA, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.

Because we do not maintain accounts or a database of user inputs, most of these rights are best exercised directly with the third-party services that process data (such as Google) or through your browser settings. To make a privacy request involving Calculators Lab directly, see Contact.

Children's privacy

Calculators Lab is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through a third-party service used on this site, please contact us and we will work with the relevant provider to address it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the services we use, or applicable law. When we do:

  • The updated policy will be posted on this page.
  • The “Last updated” date at the top of the page will change.
  • Significant changes may be highlighted on the homepage for a period.

Continued use of Calculators Lab after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
